Thanks @SergeyZhukovsky 👍 We should:

add the normal/expected cases to avoid Handling External links on NTP does not work brave-ios#8383
add the _blank cases to avoid links not opening third party apps when target=blank/open in new tab brave-ios#8494 (once it's fixed/reviewed by security)

So we'll have NTP cases and maybe add a few cases where you're clicking on App Store links within websites/search results.
