This kinda goes against what brave is for... It is a shame that it was not announced more widely and there is not an easy way to turn it off for the average user. Tips for everyone looking to turn this off:
Ads on the new tab screen should not be a thing. Especially in a browser that allows selective ads / ad blocking. |

@mandar-brave I had problems finding this option there, too. Just my 2 cents: It does not hurt, of course, to have certain opt-in options (such as the paid background image) available in multiple areas of the browser, like showed in your image. But I think it would make more sense to have ALL OF THEM available in just one place (ideally, the settings of the Brave Triangle menu, where currently most other ads-opt-in option are located.). Having to search in many places to activate this or that ads-option is not a good feeling imho. |
