Description

I had a sudden power outage and then I tried to restore all tabs before I had an internet connection. When I clicked restore all tabs, it didn't even attempt to open any of the tabs, presumably because there was no internet connection

Steps to reproduce

  1. Kill the browser
  2. Disconnect internet
  3. Restore all tabs

Actual result

No tabs restored

Expected result

Tabs restored

Reproduces how often

Easily reproduced

Brave version (brave://version info)

Brave Browser 130.1.71.121
Arch Linux

Channel information

  • release (stable)
  • beta
  • nightly

Reproducibility

  • with Brave Shields disabled
  • with Brave Rewards disabled
  • in the latest version of Chrome

Miscellaneous information

I'm having trouble restoring the tabs. I opened the history tab to see if it had my tabs there but nothing. I then backed up Session and Session Storage files in BraveSoftware/Default folder but I don't know what to do next nor can I find what to do next.
The tabs file is 0 bytes.
To anyone wanting to restore tabs after crashes like these, DO NOT VISIT THE HISTORY TAB. Immediately kill your brave browser via task manager to bring up the restore tab thing again

Looking everywhere online and it's extremely hard to find instructions on how to restore it manually with session files. Everyone seems to have solved their issue with CTRL+SHIFT+T or other methods. Those that still asked in discourse got no response and their thread closed. Can we get this documented? Also no, I do not have "Clear cookies/etc" on exit
