Sync v1 - brave crashing during sync #10332
Comments
I am also having this same exact issue. Started popping up for me yesterday for no reason I can discern. Now it just crashes intermittently with no errors or anything the window simply closes down. |
Hi, i have the same issue :( |
Perhaps the Nightly Channel v1.12.32 will fix this. I ran it, and it stays open and seems to work. Of course this didn't overwrite the active install, which still has the issue (exits after 1-2 minutes of use). |
@scorchpc looks like you're running into a sync crash per your crash report:
Do you have sync enabled by any chance? If it's enabled, does disabling stop the crash? We're currently working on @kidBrazil @jobogamer24 mind going into
|
@scorchpc if you're not able to quickly disable sync in the current release version that is crashing, you can launch via the command line adding The new working version of sync is in 1.12... currently on Nightly 😄 Curious if you have the same issue @kidBrazil @jobogamer24 ? |
Disabling Sync did the trick on my end - browser no longer crashes 🎉 |
I should have thought of that, I almost did it yesterday but got busy. I had previously enabled manually because I noticed it got turned off, I used: brave://flags I set it back to Disabled there and it seems fine now. Thanks! |
Hi,
My Brave Browser on my Windows Desktop PC is continually crashing (just exits). My Dad sent me a video on Facebook, and I started watching it, then it exited. I don't know how this could have caused the issue, but that is really the only thing that was suspicious at the time. I ran a quick virus scan, offline virus scan and malware bytes scan, but it is still happening. I even did an uninstall and reinstall but it is still happening?
I am a technical person and want to see Brave succeed.
Let me know how I can help.
