Vorta hangs on backup check?

Hi there,
i am not sure if i am right here, but maybe someone can help out: i am using borg for quite some time to backup around 2TB to a Fileserver in my LAN (10Gbit/s) and also locally to a seperate backup disc. the problem i am facing is, that vorta wants to do consistency-checks, wich just take forever (i mean seriousely forever...). if i do something like that:
borg --info -p --debug check --verify-data --save-space /Volumes/Backup/Borg_Backup (wich should do the same or does it?) it also takes a long time, but it finishes eventually after some hours.
is there any way to know if vorta crashed or has some other problems? i am running on a german account, and it just sais "starte Konsitenzprüfung..." and keeps like that.

Any idea what that could be? or where i would start looking for the problem?

Vorta only runs /usr/bin/borg check --info /path/to/repo which should be faster than running with the --save-space flag. This seems to be an issue with vorta. Can you enclose the logs for the time of the consistancy check?
Additionally you can find the borg process vorta calls in your task manager. There you can track its termination and find out whether vorta doesn't recognise this correctly.

You can run a check manually in the archive tab. The logs from last time should still be available. You can find them via Misc > Logs.

I'm having the same issue too. My whole dataset is only half a TB, and my repo is on my local NAS.

20:53:57 - My scheduled archive ran.
20:59:03 - Archive finishes with a size of 1.3GB.

00:36:00 - Vorta's still running check and showing the same "Starting consistency check... INFO: Starting repository check" message in the UI

I've seen a lot of mentions that these checks do take long, but if it's taking this long, some indication on its progress would go a long way #1497 at re-enforcing the users that things are indeed still happening. At the moment, I can't seem to find this out from the UI or the log.

I'm also wondering if there's a way to stop these checks (and if it's safe), and what are the implications of me stopping it in its tracks by shutting down my PC, since in my case here it's midnight, while it's doing this check?

Thank you very much, would genuinely appreciate in learning more about this since I've only just started using Vorta/borg and adamant on sticking to it as my primary backup solution.

Checking Ksysguard, the status of Vorta and borg processes respectively show that they're "sleeping"? I'm not sure if this means anything.

This seems to be an borg issue. We have already fixed #1497 by adding more progress information to the consistency check. This will be in the next release scheduled in about a week or two.

There is no issue here, the process just takes long because it reads all the data files and doesn't print many updates about it unless there is an error.
