Is jCard supported?

I see examples of it being discussed at nextcloud/server#29693 (comment), but nothing in DAVx5's documentation. I ask per nextcloud/contacts#3956 (comment).

The last time I had a try there was the Nextcloud problem which made jCard unusable, and it seemed that it was not very wide-spread among other servers.

1. Are there any other servers you know which support jCard / jCal?
2. Wouldn't it be still broken on older Nextcloud installations, even if we gracefully ask the server whether it supports jCard?
3. Are there really noticeable advantages or will it confuse users and servers more than it solves?

@rfc2822, do you know whether it's been reported? I'd like to subscribe to the issue, if so. If not, perhaps consider doing so - it'd be a shame to have the implementation remain broken.

Per stackoverflow.com/revisions/46672992/9, the American Registry for Internet Numbers might. However, I've not encountered any thus far (except NextCloud, if it does).

I don't know, because I wasn't aware that it was broken until now. NextCloud also is not my area of expertise (else, I would probably have been able to ascertain this myself).

Yes, for me. I do find-and-replace on VCard properties constantly, due to necessity. However, it's impossible to do this consistently, because the lines break at arbitrary and inconsistent points, cutting property values across lines.

Well there wouldn't be a problem with enabling it "only for Nextcloud" (+ others if they support it).

The issue you have mentioned above (nextcloud/server#29693) was reported by me. Back then I noticed that Nextcloud 25.0.3 was broken. That version is from 2023, so I think there will be some Nextcloud 25.0.3's out there and DAVx5 contacts sync would fail for all of them...
