Is it possible to hide davx5 in the recent task manager?

Add this to the Activity tag of the Activity in Manifest file, that you don't want to show up in the recent apps list:

Whether or not the task initiated by this activity should be excluded from the list of recently used applications ("recent apps"). That is, when this activity is the root activity of a new task, this attribute determines whether the task should not appear in the list of recent apps. Why would you want to do that? Where is the benefit in this?

For those apps which run always in the background, there's no need to see it in the recent task.
I won't slide it off, so I think if there's an setting "show in the recent task" would be better.

You don't need to have DAVx5 "open" in the Recents screen. DAVx5 uses work manager to execute synchronization in the background even when the app is closed.

Now I've locked Davx5 in the task manager.

You can also use our little widget by the way. A tap on it will make a sync in the background while keeping the app itself closed.
