<p>This page queries the <a href="https://gnis-ld.org/">GNIS Linked Data</a> database using SPARQL to get results. You can search for current GNIS records on the <a href="https://edits.nationalmap.gov/apps/gaz-domestic/public/search/names">USGS GNIS web site</a> but GNIS-LD has both archived and current GNIS records so you can search both data sets at once. If you're not familiar with SPARQL, it can be difficult to use. This page makes the query process easier.</p>
<p>Simply put your search terms in the form fields below and press the Search button. By default, the search terms are CASE SENSITIVE and require EXACT MATCHES to find records. However, if you prefix the Feature Name field with a tilde (~), you may use regular expressions in this field. Queries with regular expressions take longer, so be patient after pressing the Search button.
