2022-12-01 Introducing Node Classes on APPUiO Cloud on cloudscale.ch

Until now, workload on APPUiO Cloud was scheduled on nodes optimized for performance. This came at a cost. We are excited to announce that you now can select between two types of node classes on the APPUiO Cloud zone running on cloudscale.ch. By changing to one or the other, you can basically choose between less cost or higher performance. You will find documentation on what node classes exactly are at https://docs.appuio.cloud/user/references/node-classes.html. For documentation on how to schedule your workload on a specific node class, have a look at https://docs.appuio.cloud/user/how-to/choose-node-class.html. So far, workload was scheduled on nodes of the node class plus. For existing namespaces, this remains the same, but you can switch to flex if you decide to do so, following the documentation linked above. For new namespaces, the default will be flex, and you can switch to plus if you have the need for it.
