Question.
The technique I know installs an outdated Kindle on Windows, but what's up to date?
It would be helpful if you could teach me from the beginning.

Thanks to the maintainers and all the contributors of this repository.

Solution: See the wiki instructions at https://github.com/apprenticeharper/DeDRM_tools/wiki/Exactly-how-to-remove-DRM

Use Kindle for PC 1.26 or earlier.

Personally, I think it makes sense to merge the above procedure into https://github.com/apprenticeharper/DeDRM_tools/blob/master/DeDRM_plugin_ReadMe.txt

Please reply if you agree/disagree, and if someone wants to try doing it, leave a note here so that others don't duplicate the work while you're doing it.

Hi @tartley

Please reply if you agree/disagree, and if someone wants to try doing it, leave a note here so that others don't duplicate the work while you're doing it.

I wrote a Wiki and made a PR to add a link at README.md.
I think it's good to integrate it into the README.

Please reply if you agree/disagree,

I agree. 😊

Some of the info from the MobileRead thread is in the FAQs here (and there is a link to the thread in the FAQs as well).

I've updated the ReadMe.md and FAQ.md a bit. That should cover most of the recent changes.

Where can I find kindle-for-pc-1-26-55076.exe or KindleForPC-installer-1.26.55076.exe?
I saw a video of a guy that showed how to remove DRM, but when I did go to Github, the link was not shown on the page.

Video is probably out-of-date. Now you can only download books published before 2023 with that older version of Kindle for PC. With DeDRM 10.0.9 and the KFX Input plugins installed in calibre, you can decrypt most books from the current Kindle for PC.
