In a beginner text, a diacritic may be placed on alef wasla U+0671 to indicate to the reader how to pronounce it in the beginning of a sentence. But the fatha and damma diacritics clash with the basic letter form. Example with Amiri-0.112 WOFF in Firefox in Linux Mint 19.3:
