Up until now, I have been developing CRSF for Arduino dominantly on my Metro M4 Express development board and relying on you guy to test whether-or-not something is working on your particular target.
This does have its pros and cons.
The original reason why I did it this way in the first place is because a lot of the hardware CRSF for Arduino supports... it isn't reasonable for me to have literally all 150+ development boards IRL, compile, upload, test, and debug.
However, I have come up with a compromise...
By looking at my Quality Control automation, you can see that I am compile-testing only a handful of targets I know to be commonly used by you guys. So, what I am doing today (at the time of writing this announcement) is I am purchasing some examples of these development boards as long as they have the following chipsets:
Because I currently have hit a wall with my Metro M4 Express. As good as that development board is... there is only so much I can do with it. Not only that, I'm unable to help diagnose any issues you guys have on targets you have on hand but I don't.
So, that's what I am doing.
This will mean development of CRSF for Arduino will be on hold just for a wee bit longer (especially the Serial Transmitter Interface) until these boards arrive. Because I really need these three boards to develop it on. ESP32 in particular, which allows half-duplex UART which will allow me to make the "External Transmitter Module" version in addition to the upcoming "Internal Transmitter Module" version.
Pretty much what this means is, I am purchasing three new development boards and when these boards arrive, I will be able to take CRSF for Arduino to the next level. Because where I am currently at, I have hit a wall and I am unable to progress any further with what I currently have available on hand.
Edit: I will post another announcement once these development boards have arrived.
Again, thank you all for being here and showing your support by using CRSF for Arduino in your projects, and thank you all for your patience. 🖤
