Which programming style guide to use?

Unlike many higher level programming languages there is no single programming style guide in the world of PLC programming (Structured Text).

• Some PLC vendors created their own guide, each one of them slightly different than the others.
• Many larger machine building companies might have developed their own in-house programming style guide.

Since the MotoLogix examples will be used by many different users on various PLC platforms, we should adapt a programming style guide that:

• Suits every PLC platform.
• Has a low learning curve.
• Is documented online.
