I have sfwbar at the top, which is set up to show the current window title. Window borders are set to have very slight rounding. Also, unfocused windows have a slightly lower opacity.

Sorry to bother you, what is your file manager? I'm using Dophin but I have black folder/files names on dark background and in general a light theme in all kde apps on Niri. I don't get how to apply (kde) theme in Niri too. Can you/someone give a tip to me? Thanks!

Thinner vertical waybar, rounded corners and global theme switching, even applied to Neovim!

Without the delay of some GTK apps, the theme switching animation would be perfect yet I don't want to delay the whole animation to wait for them

By several scripts: setbg, setcolor and some config in Neovim. The setbg corresponds to the background option in Neovim, while setcolor corresponds to :colorscheme .... Furthermore, you also need to modify the GTK themes that will be applied to adopt these script.

Niri + Alacritty + Ratatui is some combination. Blazing fast indeed. Using focus-follow mouse as long as you are within range of the window, key binds are picked by the respective window, so with a keyboard, touchpad and an entire utility workspace centered around TUIs, centered around hotkeys. Always a bind away. No clicking necessary

And it looks gud with Niris animations and Alacrittyy's dynamic adjusting to frame the terminal content.

Thanks @YaLTeR for this wonderful compositor, and @bbb651 for helping me out with my launcher.

Normally the launcher would close if it loses focus, but I just had to showcase the colors of Zen...
I intentionally did not go for a bar, since imo it just takes up space most of the time, so I integrated it into my custom launcher, created with python, fzf and alacritty. It also has a dashboard mode for some utilities I use all the time and a window switching mode.

Yes and also no. It is just a alacritty window with a custom window title which I am then matching using a window rule and with that moving it to float in the middle of the screen. Alacritty is started through a python script that looks out for any events it may send, and if it sees that it lost focus, it closes the window, as if it was a normal launcher.

Then there is another python script running which finds the apps, windows, accesses the dashboard, and handles mode switching. It also creates the header bar with some status info.

All of this is then displayed in alacritty using fzf (a fuzzy finder). If I select any option then my python script causes fzf to exit which then causes alacritty to exit, thus closing the window automatically.

finally i'm making my post here.
recently i've been working on the widget of mine, and this is finally it, after i add support for niri workspace.

really love the compositor, especially after the support of floating window. also it helped me learn a lot about wayland.

i'm more in favor of a clean desktop so seldom do i use a "bar", and so i made these little tools, you can see the "emptiness" in my desktop.

i did thought about puting those buttons on the left or right edge, but i find it more convenient moving my mouse to top rather than other edge, and vim also got j&k on the same keyboard line for moving cursor up and down, it is easy for me to get used to it.

It has to be fixed in WezTerm. There have been open PRs with fixes for a while.

Niri works perfectly in NixOS thanks to @YaLTeR and @sodiboo.

I made some great effort to make the wallpapers and the colorschemes consistent. I used stylix to set colorschemes for all the applications, and used ImageGoNord/lutgen with some nix code to automatically generate wallpapers matching the colorschemes.

Niri currently doesn't have blur support for transparent windows, so I wrote a python script that blurs the wallpaper when the active workspace is not empty. The script only works in Niri with swww.

Some of the config and scripts can be found in my gists.

The wezterm bug is kinda annoying tho. I have to comment out prefer-no-csd otherwise I can't resize wezterm, but the spotify decoration is so ugly :'(

new (old) laptop! it's a fairly lazy catppuccin latte-based setup (though, it'd be interesting to try my hand at theming reaper to match the aesthetic). might update this post if i make any more progress.

the most interesting things about my setup is:
rofi set up much like the mac launcher with configuration.location: 2, configuration.fixed-num-lines: false and window.margin: 360 0. typing into the bar with this makes it so it doesn't move the top part when it shows results.

and mkinitcpio-colors to match a catppuccin-esque color scheme for lemurs (not pictured, might update later)
