Description

It seems like the shortcut for 6.2's new distraction-free mode conflicts with Safari on both the iPad and desktop. The shift-command-\ shortcut pulls up Safari's tab groupings rather than distraction-free mode.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Open the latest version of Safari on the Mac or iPad.
  2. Open any published post.
  3. Type shift-command-\

Mac: Ventura 13.3.1
iPad: iOS 16.1
Happens with and without Gutenberg in several sites.

Not sure how to solve this better:

  • try Cmd + Shift + Alt + \ across web browsers
  • try Cmd + Shift + Alt + \ only in Safari
