• Create a new article for the Author Name block 36001
• Make sure the URL slug under Permalink is: post-author-name-block
• At the top of the page, under the title, add the  ‘Link back to blocks’ reusable block.
• Convert all reusable blocks to a ‘regular block’.

Update for 6.2

• Mark "post author name" as stable / no longer experimental 45008
• Post Author block now includes option to link author archive 42670

General

• Make sure all screenshots are relevant to the latest version
• Make sure videos, if any, are up to date
• Add ALT tags for the images
• Make sure the headings are in sentence case
• Convert all reusable blocks to a ‘regular block’.
• Update the changelog at the end of the article

Notes

1. We are not adding detailed updates for the Block settings - Typography, Color, Layout, Dimension and Border and for the More Options setting in the block toolbar. Pls mention the settings included for the block and link to the detailed settings pages instead.
2. Pls make 6.2 updates first
3. Some of the PRs have great videos that can be added to the article
4. For 6.1, you can pick the screenshots added in the comments previously, if they are relevant.

I'm working on this one right now. It's my first documentation article so I'm a bit slower to make sure I'm following the style guide. I should be done this week.

👋🏼 Hi folks! I see this has stalled out. I'm going to jump in today to get this done for 6.2. I see some folks really wanted to work on this and I deeply appreciate that effort. It's important at this point though to have something in place for 6.2!

Briefly updated the post author block since it didn't include that the avatar and byline is included in the block, helping distinguish the post author name block better.

Created the new page here and published it using the same tags as the post author block complete with alt tags, visuals, etc: https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/post-author-name-block/

As per #713, I have removed the inline "More Options" information and replaced it with a link.

I have also fixed the headings structure.
