Description

A new media query to allow CSS to detect if the user has a preference for being served alternate content that uses less data for the page to be rendered.

The W3C TAG review essentially dismissed this solution and asked for something else: w3ctag/design-reviews#705 (comment). Do we know if their concerns are addressed?

This is also another bit that could be used towards fingerprinting and in the extreme could be used to exploit end users in some way, similar to what happened with the Battery Status API.
