Pluggable User model

Now that we have django-politico-staff, can we leverage the information in there to replace our serializer Users. If so, can we make it pluggable using a combination of Model names and accessor for certain key properties? The only thing it's used for is the Channel owner property so we could remove that as a property and replace it with some accessor functions based on pluggable settings.
