The more I look at the markdown options, the more this appeals, as a way to avoid lockin. Markdown-it doesn't seem too bad, but remark's direction is horrible. And both would mean using Nunjucks for includes - which is fine with Eleventy, but almost certainly chokes any other SSG.

And it's part of 1.0. And probably don't want to release skeleton before 1.0 (doubtful I'll get there ahead of Eleventy anyway). So no harm in waiting on this while working on other issues.

Remeber to remove the following as part of adding asciidoc:

• all markdown-it functionality and docs
• nunjucks as the way of doing content reuse
