A pool based sale mechanism can be done in two different types:

Where all the users are allowed to deposit until a certain time, and once the sale time ends, the total token allocation of that sale is distributed pro rata on the deposit made by each user.
Where the token allocation of that round is flexible, and everyone interested to buy the token can buy for a certain period of time at a fixed rate of token.
