Poshak has contact with Wanda Diaz, a blind astronomer who has done pioneering work on sonification.

We should contact her to understand how to maximise detection. Open questions are:

  • Is it better to sonify as a single, continuously changing pitch, or a series of notes?
  • What frequency range is best to sonify over, given sensitivity falls off outside a certain range?
  • If using a series of discrete notes, what length notes, and what musical scale to use?
  • Potentially, opinions over length of sound?
