На странице https://xskrill.notion.site/VPS-af41147ffa124465ad95ba93dfe4ec2e рекомендуется использовать авторизацию по ключу и запретить один из методов авторизации паролем.

Заменяем на
PasswordAuthentication no

Но ничего не сказано про ChallengeResponseAuthentication, а он может быть включён по умолчанию.

Вероятно, там же стоит добавить рекомендацию заменить ChallengeResponseAuthentication yes на ChallengeResponseAuthentication no.
