Is anyone working on this? Can my company "sponsor" this feature or otherwise contribute financially to get this feature prioritized? Our requirement is simple: ability to embed images into generated xlsx files. Alternatively, we could read() a XLSX file with an image, change some data, and output that.

We offer this in the Pro compendium. Since companies have paid for the features already, it would be unfair to them if we turned around and made it available as open source. We have a longer comment in a gist.
