Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Language Translation Framework

Overview

This mod enables string replacement in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Deus Ex: Breach to facilitate game translation to languages that aren't officially supported (e.g., Turkish). The framework loads in-game strings from a JSON file specified in the configuration, allowing anyone to create or modify their own translation set.

Installation

Copy version.dll, DXMD_Mod.ini, strings.json, and (if necessary) your custom font into the \retail\ directory (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Deus Ex Mankind Divided\retail).

Note: The latest MSVC Redistributable must be installed to run this mod. If you get an error about a missing vcruntime140_1.dll, you probably don't have it installed.

Keybinds

None yet.

You can change keybinds and other settings by navigating to your \Deus Ex Mankind Divided\retail\ folder and editing DXMD_Mod.ini.

  • KillerBeer (AKA KillerBeer01 or Kimed), who wrote their own game archive parser to extract subtitles for all languages (and fixed some existing English/Russian entries), and has generally been a contributor/collaborator on this project.
  • SinnerClown Çeviri, the Turkish translation group that originally contacted me with this project idea. They're also responsible for the Turkish translation data set. The SinnerClown forum thread about this mod can be found here, and the Turkish build can also be found on NexusMods.
  • Lazenes, the Turkish translation project manager and creator of the extended font that added support for the full Turkish alphabet.
  • Ashtro, who translated the Arabic dialog in the opening cutscene of the game (this dialog originally had no subtitles).
