Since ipfs-cluster 0.13 has added a non-recursive pinning functionality (see ipfs-cluster/ipfs-cluster#1009), we can create a folder on the cluster which holds the older versions of the mirror without actually holding any of the data.
Stuff that is still saved on some node in the ipfs-network can be fetched, others might be unavailable.

For the history functionality, it would be nice to have just the directory structure stored on the cluster, which would require just several megabytes maximum instead of just the root directory.
This functionality requires a new type of pinning in IPFS: ipfs/kubo#7876
