Development
The main function of Audio Player is to play audio files, such as music, radio plays, and audio recordings. The ID3 tag editor is an additional function with no guarantee of completeness or error-free functionality.
Cover search and tag editing are nice to have but the major development goes in the direction of playing additional codecs.
We will not extend the Files app. Neither with a complete player, nor with any features for automated playing of audio files. To tweak the most commonly used standard app needs a lot of tests and potential adjustments with every new server release and restricts the development of the Audio Player app.
The development of Audio Player follows the guidelines of Semantic Versioning in the MAJOR.MINOR.PATCH format.
