Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

Some compilers don't support openmp even in the CPU only context. We should test for this and abort with a friendly message if the default QMC_OMP=1 is set; currently the first compilation test will break and give an unclear error.

Describe the solution you'd like

Add a compilation check right at the top of our CMake.
