PureMVC AS3/MultiCore Utility – Pipes
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
Release Date: 10/02/08
Platform: ActionScript 3
Version: 1
Revision: 1
Author:Cliff Hall <cliff.hall@puremvc.org>
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.1 - Added disconnectFitting method to TeeSplit.
1.0 - Added IPipeAware interface and JunctionMediator, both previously
in the PipeWorks demo.
0.9 - Queue: sort-by-priority now works and switching between SORT
and FIFO mode operation is tested.
0.8 - IPipeFitting defines and all concrete fittings now implement a
disconnect method, which disconnects and returns the fitting connected
to the output. TeeSplit is special because it has multiple connected
outputs, so the disconnect methods must be called multiple times to
disconnect them all. They are disconnected in LIFO order. The disconnected
fitting is returned so that if you are splicing into a pipeline, you
have a reference to both sides of the splice to reconnect around your
new fitting. Also fixed bug in Junction.hasPipe(). Added sendMessage
method to Junction, allowing you to send a message on a previously
registered output pipe.
0.7 - Message: refactored out of pipes/plumbing into pipes/messages folder.
Message type changed to String. Added QueueControlMessage and
FilterControlMessage, subclasses of Message that simplify creation of
control Messages, and show how to create your own subclass of message
for custom purposes. They expose constants for type names and use an
internal URI scheme to manage message namespace. Filter and Queue:
modified to use new control message names. Queue: Added support for
toggling sort-by-priority/fifo behavior. FilterControlMessage has its
own getters and setters for name, filter and params properties. Filter:
now accepts a filter function just like it accepts parameters, and
so does not need to be sublcassed to work.
0.6 - Message: Allow null header. Queue control flush messages only require
a type, so thats the minimum requirement. Queue, Message, Filter:
Message.TYPE_NORMAL becomes Message.NORMAL and Message.TYPE_CONTROL
is no longer used. Instead, simply set the message type to Queue.FLUSH
or Filter.PARAMS.
0.5 - TeeMerge: Return Boolean from connectInput.
0.4 - PipeListener: fixed 'apply parameter must be an array'.
0.3 - Exposed the PipeListener class, which was previously an 'inner class'
defined and used only inside Junction. It's useful for unit testing,
though, and for simple pipeline scenarios, you may not prefer to use
the Junction class and just set a listener on the end of the pipe
yourself.
0.2 - Checked in API Docs for the utility, updating a bunch of the inline
code comments. Also, added the functionality for Filter instances
to have instance names and to receive their parameters via control
messages.
0.1 - Checked in initial classes and license/version files. Most of the
functionality is expected to work at this point, though there are
as yet no unit tests or demos. Also, this has been through the
refactor ringer prior to checkin, so I don't expect a lot of churn
in package/class names. - CLH
