Welcome to Prevent HIV OK

Welcome, and thank you for visiting Prevent HIV OK! In time, we provide a slew of educational information, legislative efforts in Oklahoma, and a searchable list of testing locations.

Content for this site is currently being developed and will be made available as it is written. We will also be transitioning this site's content management system ("CMS") from WordPress to Drupal by the end of the first quarter (March) of 2016.

WordPress to Drupal

Currently, this site has been developed using WordPress; however, we are working on a Drupal-based website to provide more functionality and a better user experience. Also, our developer is more comfortable with Drupal.

What is the Difference?

Originally developed as a blogging platform, WordPress is a simple-to-use and can be setup quickly and there are many benefits to that. Consequently, there are also drawbacks. While WordPress has developed into a more robust CMS, it is our belief that it it not an adequite enough to support our long-term goals. With that in mind, we believe Drupal is the appropriate CMS (some would define it as a content management framework) of choice for this site and we are working on building a new and improved version using it.

Site Roadmap

A complete roadmap for Prevent HIV OK will be available here; below is a simple overview.

  • Create content based on the link structure outlined below.
  • Create a Drupal theme based on Zurb Foundation or Bootstrap.
  • More to come...
