Steps to reproduce

This code:
class MyNumbers:
def iter(self):
self.a = 1
return self

def next(self):
if self.a <= 20:
x = self.a
self.a += 1
return x
else:
raise StopIteration

myclass = MyNumbers()
myiter = iter(myclass)

for x in myiter:
print(x)

Was ran in Visual Studio Code on python verison 3.12

Expected behavior

The program gets iterated through until the value reaches 20.

Actual behavior

The screenshotted error appears before continuing to run the python script.
