Comments

been eagerly following up on this, what happened/// just curious |
Still discussing on it, no worries |
This issue is postponed: we'll discuss it again after milestone 8.2. Actually we're missing the management of the Reference https://mattermost.nethesis.it/nethesis/pl/kpryrrocc3b5bgbqqh7onucc9r |
Proposed solution
All modern authentication are LDAP based but mattermost offers this feature only for the enterprise version
However gitlab allows to use a SSO to authenticate in mattermost, however gitlab is a bit heavier to only authenticate.
We could use https://github.com/Crivaledaz/Mattermost-LDAP
The LDAP authentication ask for a mail field in the LDAP that is a mandatory, actually we do not have it inside LDAP
Alternative solutions
still continue to use the SQL authentication
