Optimizing Using Ez and Pz Fields With the Adjoint Solver

Hello,
I am learning how to use the Adjoint Solver right now and I am confused on how to define the objectives. I am trying to localize the electric field of a waveguide at a certain point so I want to create an objective function that is a function of the Ez field along the waveguide and the power flow in z of the waveguide. Something like the following function:

def J(Ez, Pz):
    Ez_func = #Function I will add later that is a function of the Ez field along a line
    return npa.abs(Ez_func/math.sqrt(Pz))

I believe I am supposed to use the EigenmodeCoefficient objective, but I am confused as how I am supposed to tell the objective to give the Ez field and the z component of the Poynting vector.

I should be using the FourierFields objective.
