Note: I just want to say pre-hand that I'm not sure if the scope of this repo overlaps with the "SkyConnect ZBT-1" Firmware page but it's the best place I could find. So if this is being brought up to the wrong people then I request that & hope this concern about the issue is passed on or a link to this post is sent to the relevant web devs/maintainers Also not sure who to mark as assignee for this, I hope that the right person will be added by whoever sees this.
"Warning: Firmware update through web flasher is only available for Home Assistant SkyConnect devices and Home Assistant ZBT-1 devices purchased after October 20, 2024." 😕
But no reason seems to be given on why this warning is added on after the recent changes,
I'm just a bit confused because the webflasher currently seems to still work for old models. Atleast true at the time of posting this. (I recently tested after it came back online, to switch to ZigBee firmware and back to Thread with logs for separate troubleshooting info on an issue I've come across in an old adapter.)
And it was stated multiple times (by people associated with the HASS Project in a lot of places) when I was asking around about a possible new 'ZBT-1' model, that there was no difference in firmware or hardware to the older 'SkyConnect' branded USB adapters and that the new naming scheme was just part of planned adjustments in HASS branding to simplify things for when Z-Wave sticks are openly & publicly announced.
So with all that in mind, has there been (or are there going to be?) any plans for changes to any newer "ZBT-1" branded models manufactured after the end of Oct '24? And if so, could that relevant information be added to any warnings?
I know that Silicon Labs has a new revision/B sku to the modules being used in the SkyConnect Radio Adapter from Nabu Casa, So I'm assuming that it's safe to say that their newer version is more supported by the firmware & loader updates that they're now rolling out? 🤔
