Best Method to Prepare a Custom 3D CAD Model for Texturing and 6D Pose Estimation #297

Hello,

I would like to know the optimal way to prepare a custom 3D CAD model for use as a textured object, similar to your demo. I have an .stl file and need to convert it into a properly textured model, including .obj, .mtl, and .png files.

I attempted this process on two objects—one worked very accurately, with a stable 6D pose, but the second object exhibited significant shaking. I am confident in the accuracy of the .stl file, but I am unsure whether there are issues with the .png and .mtl files I created.

What is the best approach to ensure a properly prepared and stable textured model? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

for your 2nd object, is the texture right? You can verify this by importing OBJ file into Meshlab and visualize.
