[Affected Versions]:

  • Firefox Reality version 7 RC5 (0706b65)

[Affected Platforms]:

  • Oculus Go - Android 7.1.2
  • Oculus Quest - Android 7.1.1
  • HTC Vive Focus Plus - Android 7.1.2
  • HTC Vive Focus - Android 7.1.2

[Prerequisites]:

  • The Firefox Reality browser is opened.
  • Make sure the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option is enabled.

[Steps to reproduce]:

  1. Navigate to the following website: "http://popuptest.com/” and click on a pop-up technique.
  2. Click the “Pop-Up Blocked” notification and click the “Show” button.
  3. Click the “+” button in the menu tray.
  4. Click the “View Tabs” button in the menu tray and open the tab with the selected pop-up technique from strep 1.
  5. Click the “Pop-Up Blocked” notification and click the “Show” button.
  6. Observe the behaviour.

[Expected results]:

  • The pop-ups are opened.

[Actual results]:

  • The app crashes.

[Notes]:

  • The issue is only reproducible if the pop-up technique is opened from the tab view.
  • The issue is also reproducible if the “Don’t show again for this site” option is clicked on step 5.
  • The issue is also reproducible by having the "Block Pop-Up Windows" option disabled.
  • The issue is not reproducible if the pop-up technique is opened from bookmarks or history.
  • All the opened tabs are closed after the crash.

I have verified that this issue is no longer reproducible with the latest Firefox Reality version 7 RC6 (b01367a) installed on the Oculus Go, Quest, HTC Vive Focus and Focus Plus headsets.
Now, the app does not crash after clicking the "Show" button for pop-ups from a website opened from tabs view in a new window.
