There are several XML schema files in MegaMek:

defaultQuirksSchema.xsl
skinSchema.xsl
keyBindingSchema.xsl
unitQuirksSchema.xsl
formationRulesetSchema.xsd

These should all have the XSD extension. The XSL extension is for an XML stylesheet, not a schema.
