Describe the bug
I am trying to import a 200 megapixel uncompressed tif file that is nearly a gigabyte in size (993 MB), as I need to compress it for uploading to an image gallery (tif files are very large, even just converting to a PNG with lossless compression would significantly reduce file size). However, no matter how I try to import the image (drag and drop, add button), it simply doesn't add the photo. The program doesn't hang, it can compress other photos, it just refuses to even add a large photo. Is there something I'm missing here?

Software version
2.7.1

Operating System information

  • OS: Windows
  • Version: 11

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Attempt to import large image file through any means

Expected behavior
I expected to drag and drop or select the image through file explorer, and compress it like with smaller photos

There's currently a limit of 500Mb. This is a number I progressively increased in time because I was not sure the app could handle well those big files. I'll perform some tests and let you know if I can raise the limit to 1Gb.

EDIT: TIFF support in Caesium is also a bit limited. Is there a possibility for you to upload your picture somewhere so I can test directly with it?
