Issue

After switching back to default system font (San Francisco), then Uninstalling macOSLucidaGrande, Application fonts still appear as Special Characters rather than default system font

Steps to Reproduce

  • Open macOSLucidaGrande
  • Switch back to default system font (San Francisco)
  • Uninstall macOSLucidaGrande
  • Reboot machine

Expected Result

Default system font should be restored system-wide (including all applications).

Actual Result (Issue)

Application fonts still appear as Special Characters rather than default system font

Found a fix.
If you manually clear the font cache via terminal, all is back to normal.

sudo atsutil databases -remove
