Teal support?

Teal is a statically typed dialect of lua, which transpiles into lua (like TS -> JS). It has identical syntax to Lua, just with type annotations

local function add(a: number, b: number): number
   return a + b
end

local s = add(1,2)
print(s)

Is it possible for this language server to get support for this language? The existing language server for it is not up to the quality that this one is (which is a really really high bar to be fair).

It could be possible to support Teal (which I have never heard of before but looks very useful, thanks for sharing 🙂) using plugins.

I can't support Teal natively, but I can built in a third-party library to convert "Teal" to "Lua with Annotion".

I've been working on this, using the teal compiler as a library, and because teal is just one lua file, maybe it can be included in lua-Language-server in the future? All of the lexing and parsing is done by teal, so lua language server would just need to base annotations based off it

Actually I turned my work into a proper compiler for teal lol, I should revisit the plugin but I remember that it was really tough because the way to modify the base Lua source was extremely tedious
