We currently only show thumbnails in the browser, as this simplifies our image / video pipeline and ensures that we always can show the media in the browser.
In order to implement that, we have to add a new thumbnail, which is called prints for raw images, which is a high-res .webp of the raw file.
This probably goes hand in hand with #516, clustering .xmp, raw file and the print to one photo in the UI and #287
Bug or weird feature ?
How to reproduce the bug: (I tried on https://demo2.librephotos.com/ and my own install same result)
-Select a picture (I uploaded a hi res on the demo server)
-zoom on that picture using either the moose wheel or the +- zoom bouton
you'll see heavy pixelate zoomed in picture a the it is the thumbnail that is zoomed in rather that the original hires pic
