Thanks for this. I used parts of your work to create an ASCOM Alpaca safety monitor driver to allow astronomy imaging sessions to be shut down when the voltage level drops too low when running off battery. I ended up using SimpleBLE rather than Bleak because it was much easier to integrate into a non-async environment, but your encryption logic was invaluable.
