Hi Karlo,

Happy 2022!

I have been working to clean the cover data from sites in our network and noticed that your site has not submitted plant cover data. It would be great if you could submit this data if it's available.

Thanks so much, and I hope all is well!

Best,

Kate Wilkins

Hi Kate,

Happy New Year to you too.

We don't have cover data readily available. We took top-down photos of the plots and planned to use software to estimate grasses, herbs, and woody species cover. However, to date, this software has not been made available. You can check here if interested: https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ece3.4135

We can make this estimate manually based on our photos, but we need time to process the data for 216 plots (72 plots per year). In this case, we will only be able to provide cover data by functional groups (grasses, herbs, and woody species), not by species. Unfortunately, we still have a long way to go to identify these species.

Let me know if this data fits the DN database.

Best,

Karlo
