I made the release a couple of hours ago, it's taking longer than expected for it to be reflected in Flathub but it will be released eventually in an hour or two |

Hi everyone, I've prepared one of the biggest Alpaca updates!
Confirmed Release Date:
February 22, 2025
Welcome Screen
I've replaced the welcome dialog with a new welcome screen with more stuff, it will show up for everyone once you update.
Instance Manager
The big one, Alpaca has been ported to OpenAI's library, this means Alpaca can now work with a lot more AI providers, not just Ollama.
New Titles in Model Manager
It said 'model' like 4 times in the titlebar of the model manager, I think it's better this way.
Preferences is Almost Empty
Most things have been moved to the instances preferences so now the main preferences dialog is almost empty.
New Model Selector
It now shows a search bar if there are more than 10 added models.
The Part Where the Developer Gets All Mushy
I just wanted to say thank you again for all the support, this month I raised $50 in donations, which isn't anywhere close to a salary but it does make me really happy, Alpaca is still a hobby project for me and I'm grateful that people see value in it.
Of course I will continue coding, there are probably some bugs and stuff that needs patching.
Alpaca has almost reached 100k downloads on Flathub alone, this is actually a big moment for me personally even though probably half of those downloads were people who just tried it out for a couple of minutes and then deleted it.
Alpaca has taken hundreds of hours of my life and I plan on giving it a couple thousand more.
Thanks as always for the support and patience!
