31 new sprites were just added a few days ago, which will add a lot of new opportunities for game mechanics and awesome decoration. But, I'm sure we'll still have more ideas. So, I'm starting part 3 of the "what new sprites should be added to the tilesheet?" discussion.

  • Wooden Wall. There are stone and brick buildings, but no wooden buildings. It would need to be easy to differentiate like the stone wall and floor, and look different enough from the crate to not confuse the two. I've been using the crates on occasion as walls, but only for ship buildings.
  • Broken Tombstone. Maybe have a quarter of it chipped off, or sitting on the ground in front of it. slightly less text.
  • Wardrobe/Dresser. A blocker tile house decoration. Or useful in stores to look like they have extra merchandise.
  • Golden chest. Possibly more elaborate design than the regular chest. Maybe have some treasure or gear sets come from a really nice chest, or have the golden chest be another kind of special event triggering tile. Of course, this is the first thing that comes to my mind!

  • A bookshelf that can be used as an interactable and go on to wall tiles. would need to make sure it's easy to distinguish on existing wall types.
  • A bookcase. I am still undecided if it should be blocking or interactable. I lean towards interactable that way bookshelves can be used to make libraries or similar rooms with books more traversable, and also so you can put flavorText on special ones.
  • Pile of books.
  • A single book, would make for a good interactable for flavorText.

Just as a note, you can put flavorText on anything. If you want traversible book tiles, perhaps you have a "pile of books" or a "book" sprite to place (feel free to edit it in if you agree with me). That way something that would normally be blocking still is.

The skeleton and dead tree sprites are difficult to see on certain terrains. Seiyria asked me to post these pictures here so it could be revisited.

edit: I added these ones in, removed from final list.

  • A prison door, the typical metal bar type. Would be useful for the Norkos Prison and make for another useful door without it having to be wooden. I can think of a few places where old doors could be swapped out with this kind of door.

Water related sprites:

  • Coral blocker tile. Could have a large reef and a couple smaller ones on the new map. Could see a couple different colors being possible too, maybe a healthy colorful one and a dead white one.
  • Kelp Forest Interactable. Can go over water tile but still passable. could have them in large seas to break up some of the later water spaces, but still leave them very open. Could hide a dungeon inside of one of these too.
  • Seiyria had the idea for algae. I suppose it could be a water tile that's slightly different color or style and could be used in jungle/swamp areas as well, or along coasts that might have stagnant water.
  • Broken wood boards/flotsam. Interactable for water and sand tiles, but could possibly be used in dungeons.
