Expected Behavior

No long-running tasks should depend on a web UI request. The front-end should trigger such tasks, the Background Daemon is responsible for executing them and for reporting success/failure/progress.

Current Behavior

A click on "Trigger Import Run" blocks the web request unless it finishes or fails.
