  1. More demystification for Linux commands line:

  • curl:

    • -L, --location := man curl | grep -C2 -- -L ~ (HTTP) If the server reports that the requested page has moved to a different location (indicated with a Location: header and a 3XX re‐direct/found).
    • -O, --remote-name := man curl | grep -C2 -- -O ~ Write output to a local file named like the remote file.

  • tar := man tar | grep -C2 -E "[[:space:]]+\-C[[:space:]]*"

    • -C, --directory=<DIR> := change location to <DIR> before doing any operations, with the order-sensitive.
  1. List only directories inside the current location:
ls -d */

ls -la | grep '^d'

find . -maxdepth 1 -type d
