ICT Industry Open Forum Discussion
The Federation of Information Technology Industry (FITIS), apex ICT body of Sri Lanka has
organized ICT Industry Open Forum Discussion on Thursday, 05th March 2020 from 2.30 pm
to 5.30 pm at the RAMADA Colombo.
We believe it is our mandate to focus on protecting the rights of ICT businessmen and
professionals, enabling them to make way for the development of ICT Industry in Sri Lanka.
FITIS not only believes in public private partnership and in assisting government of Sri Lanka
in ICT related objectives like National ICT Policy, but also believes in advocacy of end user
rights such as cases of warranty, guarantee, counterfeit, de-regulation, fraud issues of grey
channel and any other denial of end user rights.
The ICT vendors, particularly in the Hardware sector dealers and agents are facing many
obstacles, difficulties, confusions and complexities in carrying out their day-to-day business
due to many irregularities, anomalies, policy and regulatory complexities, market distortions
etc. resulting in loss of business and profits.
Keeping the above objectives in mind FITIS has organized an Open forum to discuss,
brainstorm and to collectively find a way forward for the ICT vendors who are experiencing
such difficulties.
Authorities invited for the open forum discussion are:
We kindly request you to assign an authorized representative of your organization to attend
this important forum who has in -depth understanding on the processes and procedures with
ICT Vendor related issues and suggest possible solutions then and there. Later, FITIS as the
industry representative will engage with your organization to seek solutions.
