videos like https://fs.littleblack111.com/White-Oak-Official-Chillhop-Music-wallpaper.mp4 will be very distracting with the suddent jumps in loop

mpvpaper can take mpv options with -o so something like mpvpaper -o "--loop" [DISPLAY] [FILE] will loop for you.

As for fading when it loops, it appears mpv doesn't currently support that.
