Once we've moved the tests from Travis (#68), we should start improving the tests due to all the recent changes.

In order to get a clean starting point (i.e. tests pass) I've some adjustments to external objects in 06203e2. Still need to:

  • Improve external object tests (e.g. names in associated data products are currently very fake)
  • Adjustments to external object tests once the new changes have been committed
  • Testing of object components needs to be improved (due to the addition of the automatic whole_object component)
  • Test deployment of local registry

(this is not yet an exhaustive list!!)
