How to generate keypack for use?

Finally since I wasnt getting versions.gz file, I tried cloning the repo onto a different machine and tried to execute pyupdater keys -c , this resulted in the same error that we get in a dev machine "You can not create off-line keys on your dev machine", and to tackle that I created a new folder, and initialized pyupdater using the same name as my project, this generated the keypack for me.

But is this the right-way to do it?
